Financial Professionals' Group Creates Singapore Presence

The , an organisation based in the US, has opened a regional office in Singapore, signalling how the Asian city-state continues to compete as a major financial hub.

The AFP presence will drive the training of treasury and finance professionals in the Asia-Pacific region. 

The office will be headed by Himashi Soriano, regional director, APAC, the organisation said in a statement yesterday. The building is located at WeWork Beach Centre, 15 Beach Road.

"The treasury and finance profession is rapidly transforming, and nowhere more so than in Asia," said Soriano. "Whether treasury and finance professionals are interested in transitioning from accounting to financial planning and analysis, improving their regional treasury centre, or learning new forecasting techniques, AFP has a training solution that meets their needs. Opening an office in Singapore will help us better serve the profession in this region,” Soriano said.

Soriano holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and has worked at AFP for more than 14 years in a variety of roles. 

AFP established and administers the Certified Treasury Professional and Certified Corporate FP&A Professional credentials, which set standards in treasury and finance.
